13 Fishing Spinning Reels | Best Bang For Your Buck!

Are you looking for a Spinning Reel with everything you want in Features and Technology? But won’t tear your wallet in two?

If you said yes, then you have landed on the right website. Today I’m reviewing the 13 Fishing spinning reels Creed series.

There are three in the series that I will be comparing today. We have Creed K, Creed X, and Creed GT. I will be comparing these reels in that order. So, hang on to your hats, and let’s get started.

13 Fishing Spinning Reels | Creed Series Comparison

Creed K

Product: Creed K Spinning Reel
Cheapest Place To Buy: Amazon.com
Warranty
My Rating: 9.1 out of 10
13 FISHING - Creed K Spinning Reel - 5.2:1 Gear Ratio - 1000 size (Fresh) - CRK1000

The first reel in the Creed Series is the Creed K. This reel has four model options to choose from. The models numbers are 1000,2000,3000,4000. The difference in the models is with the line capacity, weight of the reel, and the maximum drag

1000

  • Line Capacity = 4/160,6/130,8/90
    Weight = 8.2 Ounces
    Maximum Drag = 8 Pounds

2000

  • Line Capacity = 6/195,8/130,10/110
    Weight = 8.5 Ounces
    Maximum Drag = 8 Pounds

3000

  • Line Capacity = 8/200,1/170,12/145
    Weight = 9.4 Ounces
    Maximum Drag = 11 Pounds

4000

  • Line Capacity = 10/230,12/200,14/175
    Weight = 9.8 Ounces
    Maximum Drag = 11 Pounds

The higher the model number you go, the bigger the fish you can catch with the reel. This reel is easy on the wallet, under $50. It has precision components with an oversized bail and aluminum handle which keeps it from rusting plus makes it lighter and easier to cast.

The Creed K has soft touch knobs that make it comfortable when casting and reeling for long periods. A soft-touch knob provides a good grip so that the rod and reel don’t go flying out of your grasp when tackling a monster fish that doesn’t want to get into the boat or out of the ice.

With this Creed series reel, you get a six-disc drag that puts out eight to eleven pounds of pull. The first two models, the 1000 and 2000, give you 8 pounds of drag, and the 3000 and 4000 models put out 11 pounds of drag.

With the six-disc drag, it will ensure to keep your fishing line from snapping with those bigger fish you might encounter.

The Creed K reel has very little movement because of its one-piece aluminum handle. All in all, it’s a good reel for the price so if your budget tight and you want a reel that won’t fall apart at the first cast, go with the Creed K.

Creed X

Product: Creed X Spinning Reel
Cheapest Place To Buy: Amazon.com
Warranty
My Rating: 9.3 out of 10
13 FISHING - Creed X - Spinning Fishing Reel - 5.2:1 Gear Ratio - 3000 size (Fresh) - CRX3000

The second in the Creed series is the Creed X. This reel is one step up from the Creed K. The difference from the K series is that it has an airfoil carbon frame.

The airfoil carbon makes the frame of the reel strong but lightweight. The gear feeling is better because of the rigidity increase, allowing for a smoother drive train alignment.

The X comes in four models 1000,2000,3000,4000. The difference in models is the line capacity, weight of the reel, and the maximum drag it has.

1000

  • Line Capacity = 4/160,6/130,8/90
    Weight = 7.9 Ounces
    Maximum Drag = 11 Pounds

2000

  • Line Capacity = 6/195,8/130,10/110
    Weight = 8 Ounces
    Maximum Drag = 11 Pounds

3000

  • Line Capacity = 8/200,1/170,12/145
    Weight = 9.3 Ounce
    Maximum Drag = 13 Pounds

4000

  • Line Capacity = 10/230,12/200,14/175
    Weight = 9.7 Ounces
    Maximum Drag = 13 Pounds

Another awesome reel for the price only $20 more than the Creed K. Pick up the Creed X today you won’t regret it.

Creed GT

Product: Creed GT Spinning Reel
Cheapest Place To Buy: Amazon.com
Warranty
My Rating: 9.7 out of 10
13 FISHING - Creed GT - Spinning Fishing Reel - 6.2:1 Gear Ratio - 2000 size (Fresh) - CRGT2000

Last on our list of 13 Fishing spinning reels series is the Creed GT. This is hands down the best reel in the bunch.

It feels just like you’re fishing with a $200 reel, but with this reel, you truly get the best bang for your buck. The GT only costs $89.99 retail. For what you get, that’s a fantastic price.

This one has everything the other two have, plus a CNC flatline management system allowing backing knots to sit flush in the spool for better managing your line. An airfoil carbon rotor for more strength and an airfoil carbon handle helps reduce the reel’s weight.

There are four models in the Creed GT series reel.

1000

  • Line Capacity = 4/160,6/130,8/90
    Weight = 7.3 Ounces
    Maximum Drag = 11 Pounds

2000

  • Line Capacity = 4/160,6/130,8/90
    Weight = 7.4 Ounces
    Maximum Drag = 11 Pounds

3000

  • Line Capacity = 4/160,6/130,8/90
    Weight = 8.5 Ounces
    Maximum Drag = 13 Pounds

4000

  • Line Capacity = 4/160,6/130,8/90
    Weight = 8.7 Ounces
    Maximum Drag = 13 Pounds

The Creed GT spinning reel is the top-of-the-line in the Creed series. If you want high performance, precision engineering, and a smooth reeling lighter, weight reel? Then you will want to go with the Creed GT series by 13 Fishing.

  2. Wow I thought that if you wanted to buy some quality fishing spinning reels you would have to spend much more money than what I see here. I haven’t gone fishing for many many years and I am very far behind on how technology has progressed in this area the last few years. Your article has definitely wet my appetite to try it once I find time again. Thank you for the share.

  3. Nice Article on 13 Fishing Spinning reels Cory, I’m not much of a fisherman anymore but my father is still an avid fisherman. Thanks for highlighting the differences and advantages of each model, i don’t know why more brands don’t follow the “bigger the model number the bigger the fish” mantra. How would these cope with salt water and the open seas?

    • These fishing reels are more for freshwater fishing. They wouldn’t hold up to the bigger fish out in the ocean.

  4. I really do not know much about fishing but based on the article i could tell if i was to go for a creed k series iy will be the model number 3000, and for the creed x i will go for the model number 2000 which brings me to my final verdict of saying both series looks great but i certainly would love the creed x for fishing it weights 8 ounce and is cool for me.

  5. It was about time I encounter an article bout fishing. You did a good job by detailing and comparing the different fishing spinning reels. People could use your article in order to make a decision for the right fishing spinning reel. Personally, I would choose the Creed X Spinning Reel 3000 model. Anyway, keep on dropping that good content.

  8. Cory,

    Thoroughly enjoyed reading your post. I will confess that I haven’t been fishing in a long, long time. When I was a teenager my dad and I went fishing several times a year. We lived in Florida and had numerous rivers to fish in.  My dad had a rod and reel – nothing great and nothing like the ones you are describing.  I had a plain old fishing pole. He used to get so irritated because sometimes I caught more fish than he did. And sometimes we’d have to give up because of “garbage fish” that would steal the fish right off our line. If memory serves, I believe the fish were called “Gar.”

    You live in Wisconsin. My favorite state, especially up around the Great Lakes. I liked the way you described each reel and the gradual step-up from each one to the next one. I found it enjoyable reading, and if anyone was seriously looking for exceptional fishing gear for a modest price, they should be reading this article.
