A detergent, whether in a bar or in powder is a good surfactant that attracts the dirt including oils and maybe accumulated salt too from saltwater. Plus, they are economical and don’t cost much and I guess the spinning wheel won’t be damaged because it looks like it’s made with stainless steel.
